Live Embroidery Events & In-Store Activations

Live Embroidery at River Island, Centre:MK

We ran a working embroidery station on the shop floor of the River Island store at Centre:MK in Milton Keynes across three days in September 2026 — a VIP preview on the 23rd, then open to shoppers on the 25th and 26th. Customers picked a name, initials or a catchphrase, and we stitched it onto their purchase while they waited — no sending anything away, no waiting a week.

It's the same machine and the same hands that run every order through our Wolverton studio. We just moved it into a retail space for three days.

Why live embroidery works in a retail space

A personalisation station does two things at once. It gives shoppers a reason to stop, and it turns a standard product into something they can't get anywhere else. The machine itself does most of the work — people stand and watch a needle head move, and that's the draw.

  • It creates dwell time. Customers wait for their piece, and while they wait they're in the store.
  • It lifts basket value. Personalisation is a reason to buy the item rather than think about it.
  • It's genuinely finished on the spot. No collection slip, no postage, no follow-up.
  • It photographs well. A working machine in a retail space gets filmed by the people standing in front of it.
  • It suits a preview or launch night. A personalised piece is a takeaway guests leave with, rather than a goody bag they forget.

Booking us for an event or activation

We take our machines out to retail activations, VIP previews and launch nights, brand pop-ups, corporate days, festivals and trade shows across the UK. A booking covers the machine, the operator, setup and breakdown, thread and stabiliser, and the digitising of whatever design you want stitched.

What we'll need from you to quote:

  1. Dates and location — including setup access times and how long the stand runs each day
  2. What's being stitched — free-text names and initials, a fixed logo, or a set of designs to choose from
  3. Expected volume — roughly how many pieces per day, so we can size the setup correctly
  4. The items — whether you're supplying the garments or want us to
  5. Power and space — a standard socket and a table's worth of floor space is usually enough

Not running an event?

Most of our work is studio-based. We embroider workwear and team uniforms for businesses across the UK, and we digitise logos free of charge with every order. There's no minimum order on our standard products — browse the shop or drop us a message.
